Wish you were never born?

In the movie, It's a Wonderful Life, Jimmy Stewart's angel gave him a gift...to see what the world would be like if he were never born. It's an interesting concept to see what life would have been like without the influence of one man on how that would affect all others whose life he touched. I've seen the movie in excess of 25 times and there was also something I missed, something that touched me. The one scene that personifies the movie, the one that hits home, is as a young man if receives a gift from Mr Gower, a suit case, to use on his travels. He dreamed of travelling the world, to get out of Bedford Falls and seek out adventure. I often thought about what my family and friends would be like had I never been born.
