Missing friends and family
The holiday season is in full swing, but why do I feel a bit down these days? Getting settled down in SD has been both exhilarating and depressing. I just loved traveling to a new destination and seeking out places that I haven't been to. But, it would be nice to share my experiences with someone. I'm a bit down today being by myself, feeling a wee bit lonely. I haven't been blogging much over the past 2 months, maybe nothing to write about, or taking a reprieve from writing. My last several posts have been blah blah's, much ado bout nothing. Very boring. Depressed......................... :(

Settling down, New home
This year has been very busy: searching for a new home in a great place where there's a lot of sun, getting the old home ready for sale, travelling to the Far East, decompressing, resigning from a job with benefits to self-employment with no benefits. But, the good news was that 2007 was a very profitable year, rich in change, life style, friends, outlook, perspectives, etc.
I still have to travel back to MA to close the loop on the house when it's sold. It's been a tough year in the real estate market. I've had offers but much less than what I've asked for. I wont settle for less than I want, I can take my time until the market gets better. The advantage is that the mortgage has been paid off.
I've decided to take the day off today and head to the beach, find a secluded area and read a good book. I need to find a bookstore first...that's the first adventure.

Taking the summer off for travel and adventure
The time has come to pickup and move west to San Diego. Yup, I've left my job and will seek out a self-employment in technical consulting when I get settled in my new home. But, before I move, I'm getting ready for my Far East trip to China, Singapore, Thailand, and possibly Japan (on my own). Japan is the only part of my trip that isn't part of the travel group I'll be with. Very excited to travel for 5 weeks and think about a new home when I return tot he States. When time permits, I'll blog when I can. The Internet will be accessible no matter where I am. Blogging in China might be an issue, but we'll see if we can. Hopefully the computers wont display Chinese characters on the monitors!

Time to Enjoy the Summer
Well, I've made a decision to leave my current job and take the summer off. Yea, it's crazy to give up a steady job with benefits, but the time is right. With my trips to San Diego and a planned trip to China and southeast Asia in August, I need to relax and get some things wrapped up with the house. The real estate market has cooled but prices are more realistic, way too overinflated the past 5-6 years. I'll get a decent offer since it's close enough to the water, and a buyer with a boat has 3 marinas to choose from. I'll miss this area, but looking forward to another water view on the west coast.
I'm free in June, and so much to do. Home maintenance has gotten to be bit much and very little time. Tradesman are asking too much money for small jobs, and most likely, I'm not going to get the satisfaction by having someone else do it. Maybe I'm to crtitical, but I'll do a better job. For now, perseverance and focus will be keys to getting things done quickly. Well, time for a break. Stephanie just arrived. Off to a night of blues at the local smokey cafe.

Tantalizing - good clean sexy fun
Periodically, I like to visit the Jib Jab site. Usually you can find very funny stuff. There's one category that called Sexy Funny, or something like that. There's one short video clip that's hillarious. It's called Tantalizing. There's a hot looking guy washing the window of a women's solon. Women are getting their hair attended to. As the guy is wiping the soap off the window with a squeegee, it's done in such a way that all you see is his top half, no shirt; then he wipes the lower glass, no pant legs showing. The camera turns to the women watching this tease, showing how inthralled they are with this sexy guy. The video shot of these women are perfect. You can see their lust and sensuousness developing in their eyes. You have to wonder what they're thinking at that time, and I bet it's naughty as they fantasize. At the end, he fianlly wipes the last of the soap off the windows, and with one last swipe of the squeegee, there's a shot of him wearing just shorts. The camera pans back to the women who just smile. It was a very sexy, and well done, clip.

Go West Young Man
As I plan to move to the west coast, there are many things that I need to wrap up here. One of which is my job situation. Yes, I'm planning to resign soon and take the summer off. Planning to relax and enjoy the time off. When I get back from my Far East trip at the end of the summer, I'll then resurrect my consulting company and plan to work my tail off. Looking foward to the freedom and flexibility away from the corporate life. The non-profit that I currently work at isn't run like a large company, but it's still rife with political intrigue. What employer isn't? Company politics isn't my thing. I wont play the game. Self-employment at this time in my life is right, it feels the right thing to do. So, I have to determine when I'm going to resign, then the summer belongs to me, YEA!!!

Roger Clemens Who? Loser!
You've got to be kidding, the NY Yankees are going to pay this guy $18-$19 million + the Yankees have to pay a luxury tax of $7-8 million just to have this guy pitch for less than a full season. Plus, he gets to go home to Houston when he's not pitching. Nobody is worth that kind of money. According to the Boston Globe sport's department, they claim that they're desparate to compete and win a chamnpionship. But at what cost? It's a huge risk. He's 45 years old, what's left in his arm? I'm so glad that the Sox didn't pick up this overrated SOB. He didn't come to Boston in the first place because he still harbors bad feelings with this organization. Years ago, he claimed that his wife was treated badly by the fans, Oh poor baby! He earns millions and he wants the extra $10 million to play for the Yankees. Go ahead, loser!

Needing a new toy
No, it's not a mid life crisis, or male menopause, I just need a new toy. Guys need toys to entertain themselves with. A few years back, I sold the Porsche 944 I had forever. Held on to it because it was a prized possession, fun to drive, and I loved convertibles. Just recently, I sold my boat, a 21 foot power boat. In New England, there are far too many cold months with the boat in dry dock. Too expensive, and the fun far too short during the summer months. If/when I make it out to San Diego, I'll get another boat. Out there, you can use it 12 months, that's worth the investment. As I've been divesting all material goods in preparation of a potential move, there is a void. I want another Porsche, maybe the 911 this time around. Geez, I dislike sounding materialistic, but I'm not asking for much, am I? I'll cruise the Internet and just drool over the new models.

Wish you were never born?
In the movie, It's a Wonderful Life, Jimmy Stewart's angel gave him a gift...to see what the world would be like if he were never born. It's an interesting concept to see what life would have been like without the influence of one man on how that would affect all others whose life he touched. I've seen the movie in excess of 25 times and there was also something I missed, something that touched me. The one scene that personifies the movie, the one that hits home, is as a young man if receives a gift from Mr Gower, a suit case, to use on his travels. He dreamed of travelling the world, to get out of Bedford Falls and seek out adventure. I often thought about what my family and friends would be like had I never been born. It's a difficult supposition to ponder. How do you know what the world would be like without you? Want to find out? Do what a journalist does, ask questions of others, investigate. Do you really want to know? Does Be careful what you ask for apply here?
